354 Days and Counting
Thanksgiving was of course last month, but with the end of the year looming large, there is a bountifully long list of things for which I'm thankful. Retirement from the WorldTour, moving across the country (and across the globe for that matter since I ain't calling Spain home anymore), and finding myself an amazing girlfriend -- ahem, in no particular order -- are three noteworthy events that stand out looking back on the 2016 calendar. The other not-quite-365 days on the calendar were also marked with incredible trips, events, camps, popups, meals, experiences, and, if you will allow me to get cheesy for just a moment and quote a February 1, 2016 blog post of mine, smiles for miles. In fact, there were a whole lot of miles ridden and even more kilometers, like 1.6x more of 'em. My 2016 has been nothing if not
geographically far-fetching.
Traveling coast to coast on more than one occasion, over the pond to Spain and Italy, a 600 mile single bike ride down to Mexico, and pedaling in 15 states. So to those out there who have come along for the ride, helped make it happen, or watched from the sideline, you're very much in my thoughts and recipient of my thanks. And so, to wrap up 2016, here's a photo journal summary of just some of the highlights.
JANUARYThis month's subtitle is
Drive across our enormous country then and go straight into rainy, 400 mile, 3 day Coast Ride.
And with that we see the year drawing to a close. I'm thankful to the nth degree for all that I have and all that I've accomplished. Let this be just the beginning. Sincere from me to you, here's to an awesome holiday season and smashing 2017!
